It’s back to school season with Life360 Community Services! This school year, we have the honor of serving 32,000 children per day at 68 school districts across Missouri and Arkansas.
At the schools we serve, each classroom will have a 15-minute enrichment period after the end of educational minutes. This period includes an educational activity and a bagged meal. This bag will include the five main components of a healthy meal: vegetable, fruit, whole grain, meat/meat alternate, and a carton of milk!
With 1 in 7 children across our communities struggling with food insecurity, making sure that children receive proper nutrition helps to ensure that kids are healthy and ready to learn during their time at school, as well as don’t go hungry after the school day.
“Knowing that this program has an incredible impact on the kids and that it brings joy to those that really needs it is what motivates me,” said Jake Witt, Life360 Site Manager.
We are so thankful for the teachers at our schools that facilitate our enrichment program and all they do to make this possible.
“A teacher last week told me ‘thank you guys so much for what you’re doing. This is the second school that I’ve been at with this kind of program and yours is by far exceeding expectations with aiding us in helping these kids become better people,” said Josh Wilmoth, Life360 Fairbanks Site Director. “For me, this program is the opportunity to live out my faith in a tangible way. There’s nothing like being able to make sure a child doesn’t go home hungry.”
We’re excited for the 2022-2023 school year! For more information about our feeding program, contact us at communityservices@life360.org or visit life360communityservices.org/feeding!
