As summer approaches, Life360 Community Services is gearing up for a season of giving and community-building. Here’s a look at our summer plans and the impact we’re making.
Summer Food Program and Block Party Events
With the school year coming to a close, our attention shifts to helping families bridge the gap during the summer months when access to school meals may no longer be available. Starting June 3rd, our Summer Food Program will offer meal pickups and congregate meals across Missouri and Kansas, depending on location. By providing essential meals to children, we aim to ease the burden on families struggling to make ends meet. Each meal pickup will supply families with enough provisions to last 3 to 7 days for children under 18.
In addition to meeting immediate needs, we also aim to provide summer fun across rural America! Through our Block Party Program, we will bring joy to rural communities by hosting events featuring inflatables, games, and carnival-style snacks. These block parties are a chance for families to enjoy summer activities that they may not otherwise have access to, reinforcing our commitment to not only meet physical needs but also enrich the lives of children and families.
Appreciating Our Educators
As a token of appreciation to the educators at schools participating in our School-Year Feeding Program, we prepared summer-themed gifts for teachers to celebrate the end of the school year. This gesture acknowledges the hard work and dedication they show throughout the year. At Life360 Community Services, we recognize that building strong communities includes valuing the efforts of educators who inspire and nurture the next generation.
May’s Food & Supply Giveaway Success
On May 3rd, we hosted a drive-through Food and Supply Giveaway Event, where over 260 cars passed through, serving more than 340 families. These events are vital in providing immediate support to households in need within the Springfield community. The success of this event and others like it is made possible by the volunteers who dedicate their time to serving the community and helping to create positive change in every participating family.
