Summer Feeding Program
The Summer Feeding Program provides nutritious meals to children ages 1–18 during the summer months when school is not in session. This program ensures children continue to receive essential nutrition for healthy growth and development.
The program runs from June through August at select sites across partnering rural communities. Meals are distributed once or twice per week, depending on the location, and each drive-through event provides 2 to 7 meals per child per visit.
What’s Included in Each Meal:
-
Meat or meat alternatives
-
Vegetables
-
Fruit
-
Grain
-
Milk
For many children in rural communities, school meals are a primary source of daily nutrition. The Summer Feeding Program bridges this gap by continuing to nourish children when school is out, supporting their health, well-being, and energy for summer fun.
